Persistent Bloom Retreats

are intimate, guided experiences

Imagine yourself with a personalized lesson plan, time and space blocked out, ready to create with your favorite materials at hand.

Do you dream of a picnic on the grass at a local park?

A weekend away in the woods at your favorite campsite or trailhead?

At a cozy vacation rental in a gorgeous location?

Or intentional homebody afternoons with your favorite hot tea, no tasks or chores on your plate, just time to make.

These are the potential settings of your creative retreat.

because retreats are custom tailored to you, they are flexible.

If you just have an hour each week, a flexible long weekend, or are looking to develop a clear structure for a full time practice, I want to help support you in uncovering what’s possible.

In the past I have helped clients:

  • Turn camping trips into intensive studio time to draw from nature and develop their voice

  • Develop an intimate understanding of what drives their desire to persist in creating.

  • Overcome stagnation in their art caused by bad advice and pressure from art school

  • Understand how to apply skills like color theory to fiber-based practices like embroidery & quilting

  • Organize their ideas and practices into systems that get them away from clutter and into creation

What are the STeps?

The custom retreat process is very simple:

  • We will meet virtually to discuss your goals and creative visions. I’ll get to know a little more about your travel and time preferences.

  • Based on our chat, I will build you a custom retreat plan tailored to your unique needs, goals and abilities. Your plan will be aligned with any travel you might take, including local adventures, trail suggestions, and challenge quests relevant to your needs.

  • Before your adventure, we will discuss your retreat plan, and if you need any sessions of live 1-on-1 support during your art adventure.

  • When you return from the retreat I’ll help you integrate what you learned into everyday life so that you can persistently bloom.

Why work with me?

I have been teaching art for over a decade, but I have also abandoned my own art practice for more “practical pursuits”

My adventure back to making art started on the trail, and I want to share the ways that nature has helped me combat the negative experiences that were limiting my view of what I “should” be making.

I believe that creativity helps us connect to our intution and our own sense of self. That is why it is so essential to keep connecting to these practices in uncertain times.

I’ve got a wide range of expertise you’ll have access to during our time together. I know that all paths leading to creativity are rocky, varied, and have to adapt to our different needs and brains. I want to help you do creative work that excites you and gives you reason to believe in yourself and your art.

Along my journey, I've built an intimate understanding of the highs and lows of persisting in an any creative practice.

I can’t wait to see you bloom.
