Interior Portraits

The way we see and experience our lives is in the sum of parts. Considering an apartment as an ongoing and incomplete project, Interior Portraits looked at the home with a sense of potent optimism. Rented apartments are temporary spaces, we typically own laptops and rent rooms, pushing our sense of security and ownership into the digital. Even with this recognition of the ephemeral relationship we have to our living spaces, we still optimistically attach ourselves to the idea that we can carve out space for ourselves that will be meaningful, albeit temporary. The interior is a portrait of a hopeful mirror that reflects our idealized and fragmented sense of belonging in the world.
